Social Roots (www.socialroots.eu) is an organization participating at the World’s Fair Expo in Milan and working in the agrifood sector gathering innovative and sustainable ideas with a positive social impact. They are currently putting out a call for ideas and projects on social innovation in the agrifood sector in their International Call for Solutions.
The focus should be on at least one of the themes of the Milan Expo 2015, such as
Science for Food Safety, Security and Quality; Innovation in the Agro Food Supply Chain; Technology for Agriculture and Biodiversity; Dietary Education; Solidarity and Cooperation on Food; Food for Better Lifestyles; Food in the World’s Cultures and Ethnic Groups.
The goal is to find models for tech and services that will lower environmental impact. These might help to regenerate rural communities and local economic development or help with sustainable food production and distribution. With new ideas, people can change the shape of our world’s food and economy while having a postitive impact on the environment.
Answering the Call for Solutions could lead to being invited to attend the free EXPO Camp, a one-week powerful learning experience aimed at supporting and catalysing the development of ideas and projects, taking place in Milan from the 7th to the 11th September 2015,
