Copernico and the Student Ambassador Program of the USA Pavilion

Copernico is a Silicon Valley style, cutting-edge innovation hub in central Milan. It is a place where creativity, design and technology can merge into a pleasant and functional working environment that facilitates well-being, creativity and relationships. Copernico consists of dynamic and efficient workspaces as well as creative areas for making connections that help to grow start-up companies and enterprises.

One of the most interesting events held there has been the impressive group of 120 American college students representing the USA as ambassadors for the USA Pavilion at Expo 2015 visiting the Copernico spaces. They were selected through over 1,000 applicants for the “Student Ambassador Program” for the USA Pavillion at Expo 2015. These young students represent the next generation of leadership in the USA.

Each student ambassador spends three months working at the USA Pavilion helping visitors with any questions or needs they might have. They are conversant in many languages as well as the topics and themes of the exhibits so that they can help visitors go deeper into the subjects covered. Furthermore, they will share their own personal stories about who they are, where they come from, what their values and traditions are so that everyone has a chance to interact with the diverse cross section of American life.

When the USA Pavilion student ambassadors visited Copernico for training preparation, they were extremely impressed by the Silicon Valley/New York coolness, plus the food was excellent!
